
Teaching: Dr. Krueger teaches research and assists with the clinical rotation for undergraduate students in the mother-baby unit.
Research: Dr. Krueger’s research interests are related to biobehavioral measures in the premature infant and fetus. She is currently funded for a p ilot study by the CON Biobehavioral Research Center titled “Heart Rate Variability and Learning in the Premature” (BRC). During her doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she was funded by the National Institutes of Health to study heart rate patterns and learning in the 28 to 34 week fetus.
Service: Dr. Krueger volunteers at a local elementary school and is active in making breast cancer training methods available in the community. She also serves on the College of Nursing Faculty Organization Research Committee and Search Committee. She holds membership in the International Society on Infant Studies, Society for Research on Child Development, and Southern Nursing Research Society.
Clinical practice area/expertise: Dr. Krueger’s area of clinical expertise is in Women’s Health. She is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She has 10 years of nursing experience in the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Education: Dr. Krueger received her BS in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin. She received her MS in Maternal-Newborn Nursing at the University of Florida and her PhD in Health Promotions/Disease Prevention at the University of North Carolina.
