Teaching: Professor Gannon teaches Advanced Health Assessment and Primary Care for Advanced Practice Nurses. She also teaches Nurse-Midwifery courses and serves as a preceptor for nurse-midwifery students. She assists in the undergraduate practicum focused on maternity care.

Service: Professor Gannon is currently the webmaster for the state of Florida’s certified nurse-midwives http://www.flmidwife.org/ and the state of Ohio’s certified nurse-midwives http://ohmidwife.org/ Professor Gannon holds membership in the American College of Nurse-Midwives and is a past chair of the ACNM’s Informatics Committee.

Clinical practice area/expertise: Professor Gannon is currently practicing at Shands Jacksonville in the Care Center for Women as well as the labor and delivery unit. Her clinical interests are in genetics as well as the relationship between students and patients in the clinical arenas.

Education: Professor Gannon received her BN in Nursing at Dalousie University. She received her MSN in Nursing/Midwifery at the University of Miami.
